LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - The National Audubon Society has designated three state parks near Elephant Butte Reservoir as important bird areas. The group’s bird conservation director, Betsy Daub, says Elephant Butte Lake, Percha Dam and Caballo Lake state parks play key roles for certain bird species.
