Beck's 'Song Reader' puts the music in other people's hands

The sheet music is meant as a blueprint for others to play with as they like, the songwriter says about the project, which harks back to an earlier music era. "Not so long ago," writes Beck Hansen in the introduction to his new collection of tunes, "Song Reader," "a song was only a piece of paper until it was played by someone."
