Investor's Business Daily - The Federal Communications Commission is opening up unused spectrum, or "white space," between television stations for wireless broadband networks that travel faster, penetrate walls more easily, and cover larger areas than today's Wi-Fi. The unanimous vote also resolved technical details to ensure "super Wi-Fi" doesn't interfere with TV signals and other wireless technology. Leading wireless companies, as well as tech giants like Google (NMS:GOOG) and Microsoft (NMS:MSFT), are eager to develop the market. Google slid 0.5% and Microsoft fell 0.7%.
