The director of the local Humane Society wants Harrisburg to be more responsible for its pit bulls. The Humane Society of the Harrisburg Area, based in Swatara Twp., will accept 150 pit bulls from the city in 2011, according to director Amy Kaunas. Usually, it accepts closer to 200 a year.
