Nov. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The setting was a mix of old and new: the Ark and the bimah from an old Los Angeles synagogue reinstalled in the new Wilshire Boulevard Temple . The music was old but drenched in modern significance: its composers had suffered under the racial and political policies of Adolf Hitler 's Germany.
