In terms of the baby boomer generation coming of age, the Woodstock Music & Art Fair, which took place Aug. 15-18, 1969, in Bethel, N.Y., (not Woodstock, N.Y., which is located some 40 miles away) remains the single most iconic musical event of the '60s. Just as the poster advertised, Woodstock was "3 days of peace and music" where rock 'n' roll and the hippie movement crystallized.
