Retailers will be closely watching the box office results for this summer’s bumper crop of kid movies because they have billons of dollars worth of merchandising bets riding on them. But the large number of kid flicks being released this summer is expected to boost sales at retailers like Wayne-based Toys “R” Us, which depend on movie merchandise to drive demand in May, June, and July.
