In the years since the contemporary Christian music boom of the mid-'90s, it has become commonplace for openly religious artists to flourish in numerous genres, from indie-rock (Sufjan Stevens) to metal (Underoath) to punk (Relient K). The common thread among such acts is that they've built a secular following by downplaying evangelism in favor of writing strong, easily relatable songs.
