Investor's Business Daily - The free wireless Internet at the local coffee shop, city park or airport may end up costing an unsuspecting user a lot if they are not careful, according to cyber security experts. Hackers are setting up Internet access points that police call "evil twins" or a "man in the middle" that make the user think they're using a free, safe access point. However these WiFi connections steal information and can plant a virus on the laptop to steal data later. The FBI has been aware of this scam for 5 years, but to date, few, if any, cases are pending with U.S. attorneys for this tricky crime.
