Investor's Business Daily - Mobile search is really starting to work, say researchers at Stanford Univ. and Google . While searchers using a conventional handset submit queries of 2.44 words on average, Web searches via Apple's iPhone average 2.93 words. That longer query length is similar to the average for searches by PC users, indicating that searches on high-end smart phones are becoming more like computer-based searches. Researchers at Google and Stanford Univ. discovered this trend in a study of tens of thousands of randomly selected searchers, says a MediaPost report.
