Investor's Business Daily - Teens in the U.S. text an average of nearly 80 messages every day, about 2,300 messages each month, a study by Nielsen found. Spurred by unlimited texting plans offered by mobile carriers, the numbers of text messages teens are sending per day more than doubled the average of a year earlier. Another study said 80% of teenage girls and 58% of teenage boys admitted to texting while driving. Some health experts warn that excessive texting could lead to anxiety, distraction in school and sleep deprivation, the New York Times reported.
