The low-budget westerns, noirs, serials and other films were fast and entertaining and, for some, launch pads to stardom. Of today's directors, Quentin Tarantino owes much to the genre. B-movies, those low-budget, low-prestige genre films that were fan favorites for decades, have an enduring place in Hollywood history.
